Learning Curve
We have three young children that we are teaching to farm and they are quite enthusiastic to help me with farm chores. One of their favorite chores is egg collection. Unfortunately, they can be a little too enthusiastic. The other day, while I was at an appointment with our older son, our younger son and his little sister, ages 3 and 2 respectively, went to collect eggs. From what my husband said, he filled his little basket with the eggs and excitedly came running out to show his daddy. This is cause for alarm because, bless his heart, our younger son is extremely clumsy. Just as my husband was halfway to him, our son tripped and fell. Half of the eggs in his basket were cracked and he was very upset about it. The cracked eggs were somewhat salvageable as the membranes hadn’t been broken, so I cooked them up and fed them back to the girls. They, of course, loved the treat. As for our youngest son, hopefully he will walk instead of run next time he collects eggs.
